Guest speaker shared green products at Evonik Taiwan

Following an increasing awareness of consumers for green products, the functional textile industry is seeing a high demand for environmental-friendly solutions. With a unique position in the functional textile industry in Taiwan and a 51% global market share, Evonik should be an inspiring example for sustainability.

On Sep 10, 28th, Business Development Taiwan organized a meeting to strengthen the connection with business partners and generate ideas to address common challenges. Mr. Charles Jwo, Vice President of HOYU Textile was invited to share his insights into the textile industry and visit Evonik Taiwan for an interactive exchange.

“Only the products with the bluesign®-label will survive in the textile market”, said Mr. Jwo. The bluesign®-label recognizes the company with a high level of sustainability and safety at work.

“But sustainability development won’t end here,” commented Thomas Zechel, President of Evonik Taiwan, “sustainability is closely related to us all. Evonik Taiwan has to turn the wheel in a more eco-friendly direction and provide products which meet the market’s needs.”.

Several business lines from Evonik Taiwan has developed a cooperative relationship with HOYU and a joint project about non-fluoride water-repellent products is in progress. Both parties are willing to extend the partnership and provide advanced products which align with the latest environment policy. The same sustainability standard should be applied to technologies of renewable sources and resource reduction.
